About Hung Up

We are Hung Up, an alternative rock four-piece band from Detroit, MI formed in its current composition in 2017.

Our Story

The band dates its origin in 2015, when Natalee Baetens Grae (lead vocals and lyrics) and Nick Baetens (drums and vocals) were heading the Metro Detroit group, The Suburban Soul Surfers. The original band found its style in contemporary ska and reggae. In 2017, Chris Rosswilder (lead guitar) and Mark Jones (bass guitar and vocals) joined the group after departures of the founding guitarists. The new lineup began exploring their vision together, melding into the music you hear today!

What we sound like

Our sound draws from the early aughts of rock and roll through the mid-90s and early 00s. We pull inspiration from the hip-hop, ska, punk, funk, and blues musicians that greatly influenced the music scene of our Motor City and beyond.
